Loving Family
At dinner tonight my first grade son told us how fun it was to see all of our family on Mother’s Day. He even wrote about it in his journal at school.
After honoring all of our mother’s at church and having lunch (Chinese food, so we didn’t have to cook) with my mother, we went to my husbands parents house for a small bar-b-que of 20 people:) My kids got visit with their grandparents, their great-grandmother, aunts and uncles, great aunts and uncles, cousins and second cousins. Luckily, there was a yard for the kids to play on and with the exception of a few bumped heads we all made it home in one piece.
I am truly grateful that my children have the opportunity to be a part of a big family not just on my husbands side but my own as well. For my children to know they are loved by and have a relationship with my husband and myself is a treasure, and the fact that they have so many other people in their lives to love on them is amazing.
I’m also grateful that not only do my children have an abundance of family to care for them, they also have our church family as well. How wonderful it is for them to be raised in a nurturing community. Some of our family may be far away but family can also be as close as the church around the corner.

So true, if you don’t have family near you then check out your local church. We did and now we have a loving church family. We cannot imagine life without them.
